v0.9.8-beta2 — Patch notes
What changed: the site is now calm by default, light-first, and easier to read at night. Signal is now a real feed, not a marketing page.
- Light theme redesigned for readability
- Dark theme switches automatically at sunset
- Landing first screen simplified
- Signal post length toggle added
This release focuses on comfort and clarity. Most people will read Signal before bed, or hear it on a speaker. That means less visual noise, more structure, and better contrast.
- Light-first design with warm surfaces and copper accents
- Auto theme stays: light by day, dark after sunset
- Hero cleanup so the first screen is brand, hook, and where to go next
- Signal cards with tags, dates, and reading length
Next: marketing-grade RU/UA polishing on Landing + Transparency, and a Status view built from internal posts.
Design direction: lighter, calmer, and more readable for older clients. Copper remains the brand metal. Verdigris is reserved for “their claims” and ecosystem decay.
Signal direction: this is for our people. No selling. Utility first. Every post gets a tag, and the length pill exists so kids and adults can both use it without friction.
Technical: no analytics, no trackers, no external CDNs. Theme and language use local storage only. Auto theme uses local time with PST-aware fallback.
- Theme tokens reworked (light default, dark override)
- Settings pill sizing improved
- Version bumped across all pages
