Why this matters.
Every phone your kid uses today is a tracking device. Google and Apple harvest location data, app usage, browsing habits, and voice recordings. Family Link and Screen Time aren't parental controls. They're data collection with a parental veneer. Haven Family replaces all of that with phones you actually control.
For older family members, the problem is different but related. They don't need 200 apps and a Google account just to make a phone call. They need something simple, reliable, and safe from the endless stream of scam apps and dark pattern subscriptions that prey on people who didn't grow up with this stuff.
What to know first.
Still in development
Haven Family is not shipping yet. We're building it right, not fast. The phone provisioning, local app distribution, and communication routing all need to work reliably before we put it in anyone's hands.
Requires Haven server
Family phones route through your Haven hardware. You need a running Haven installation for any of this to work. The phones are endpoints, not standalone products.
No mainstream app stores
The trade-off for privacy is that you won't have Google Play or the App Store. We'll provide curated, safe alternatives, but some popular apps may not be available. That's the point.
